7 Day Spiral

7 Day Spiral is a game about building horror, uncanny obsession, and the mundane-made-impossible. Players will go from prompt to prompt developing and playing out the terror that emerges. For each prompt, roll a d6 to get your prompt. After rolling, players will interpret, describe, and respond to the prompt. Once a given prompt has been sufficiently explored or it is time to move on to the next day or narrative beat, move on to the next prompt.

There are three different modes of play (Solo Journaling, Traditional RPG, and Collective Storytelling). All that is needed to play is a d6. While there is no strict player count, a greater number of players risks losing a sense of intimacy that horror can thrive in. The recommended player count is 1-4.

7 Day Spiral is inspired thematically by the works of Junji Ito and mechanically by the mapmaking game A Quiet Year.  This game was made as a friendly challenge with my cohost of the Anime Out of Context podcast Shaun Rollins.
